TAIPEI — The United States and Taiwan held their first digital economy forum Wednesday in Taipei, bringing together officials and experts from both sides for discussions on policies regarding digital trade and on creating policy and regulatory environments to enable digital development.
“Enabling and empowering the digital economy is one of the pillars of trade and investment between our two economies,” said Science and Technology Adviser to the U.S. Secretary of State Vaughan Turekian at the opening of the Taiwan-U.S. Digital Economy Forum before the closed-door meeting.
The dialogue has a potential to further cooperation that will not only benefit the people of Taiwan and the U.S., but also people around the world, he said. [FULL STORY]
