TAIPEI, Taiwan — As the public readies for another boycott movement against Ting Hsin International Group (頂新) and its affiliated businesses, convenience store FamilyMart stressed it is not part of the oil scandal-implicated food giant.

The renewed boycott is a show of public outcry after Ting Hsin’s former chairman executive Wei Ying-chun (魏應充) and six company employees were acquitted of charges by a district court last Friday.

A list containing all subsidiaries of Ting Hsin was recently distributed on LINE or via text message calling for a consumer boycott.

FamilyMart said its name is erroneously included in the list and that it has to clarify as consumers have contacted the company to confirm its ties with Ting Hsin.     [FULL  STORY]
