TAIPEI, Taiwan — A scuffle between two groups early yesterday morning in the glitzy eastern district of Taipei City, which included local entertainers, continued minutes after both parties were released from police questioning hours later. Six of the twelve involved in the fighting were again taken into police custody for starting the second altercation.

The first altercation occurred at a bar early Thursday morning on Zhongxiao East Road Section Four in Taipei’s Xinyi District, which also included the firing of gunshots. No one was wounded by gunshots in the altercation.

Police responded to the situation at 2:49 a.m. with a total of 35 officers. The first five police officers arriving at the bar detained a group of eight suspects attempting to leave the premises. A basketball player among the eight had four guns with three bullet cartridges, with 16 bullets in total.

According to a police report, a group of six people (including the armed basketball player) were preparing to pay their bill and leave the bar when they made physical contact with another group of six in a narrow hallway outside a room resulting in the first brawl.     [FULL  STORY]
