TAIPEI, Taiwan — The Kuomintang (KMT) confirmed yesterday in a press release that the 10th Cross-Straits Economic, Trade and Culture Forum (國共論壇) with the Chinese Communist Party would be held in Shanghai on May 3.
The party remained mum on who would lead the KMT delegation, and which members would attend. Unconfirmed reports of a meeting between Kuomintang Chairman and New Taipei Mayor Eric Chu (朱立倫) and General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party (CPC) Xi Jin-ping (習近平) on May 4 in Beijing could not be confirmed.
