TAIPEI, Taiwan — Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je (柯文哲) yesterday announced the establishment of the Taipei City Joint Center for Project Contract Outing and Purchasing, a department that will handle all city government construction dealings openly, so as to eradicate corrupt practices.
The mayor made the announcement during his routine post municipal meeting press conference. Ko said that the center will be headed by Taipei City Government engineering consultant Huang Hsi-hsun (黃錫薰), and will conduct all of its operations openly for the public to see. [FULL STORY]
