Taipei, April 4 (CNA) The Brother Hotel unveiled a plan Saturday to build a baseball hall of
Hung Teng-sheng loves baseball
fame in the Longtan Baseball Stadium, which is owned by the hotel, with the goal of turning Longtan into “Taiwan’s Cooperstown,” America’s baseball hall of fame.
Brother Hotel Chairman Hung Teng-sheng made the announcement during a briefing for Taoyuan Mayor Cheng Wen-tsan.
A hotel will also be built within the compound to boost the facility’s tourism value, Hung said.
Hung, 78, was a key figure behind the establishment of Taiwan’s Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) in 1990. [FULL STORY]
