Taipei, Dec. 20 (CNA) “Free” employment services for new immigrants have
recently been launched to help them land jobs in Taiwan, with the rate of successful job placements having reached a record high of 58 percent, according to the Workforce Development Agency (WDA).
“Many immigrants are industrious, hard-working and responsive to employers’ demands, which is just what the current job market wants,” Director of the WDA Liu Chia-chun (劉佳鈞) said in a statement on Friday.
Helping new immigrants find jobs not only enables them to become economically self-reliant and attain a sense of achievement in their work, but also can supply an important labor pool for an aging Taiwanese society, Liu said. [FULL STORY]
