Taipei, Nov. 16 (CNA) Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. (鴻海), the world’s largest contract electronics maker, reported on Monday an after-tax net profit of NT$37.86 billion (US$1.15 billion) for the third quarter, the highest ever for the company in the quarter.

It also posted record-high consolidated revenues for the third quarter of NT$1.066 trillion, up 9.5 percent from the second quarter and up 12.11 percent from the same period last year.

The company’s consolidated gross margin for the quarter was 7.18 percent, and its operating profit was NT$38.17 billion.

For the first three quarters of the year, Hon Hai had after-tax profits of NT$93.93 billion, up 27.25 percent from its NT$73.82 billion in profits over the first nine months of last year.     [FULL  STORY]
