The foreign ministry official in charge of West African affairs, Antonio Chen, said the new property will undergo renovation for the next two months before staff move in.

In January, the Nigerian government told Taiwan to move its office from the capital. It also said the name of the office should be changed and the number of office staff cut. The Nigerian government also demanded that the trade office’s director, Morgan Chao, leave the country, saying that it could not guarantee his safety.
