Taipei, Oct. 28 (CNA) MediaTek Inc. (聯發科), Taiwan’s leading integrated circuit designer, said Friday that its net profit for the third quarter of this year rose more than 18 percent from a quarter earlier on the back of strong demand for smartphones.
