areas during typhoon days can log onto the Central Disaster Prevention and Response Council’s “real-time disaster information map on Taipei City,” reports said Monday.

The public or residents living in Taipei can log onto the system to stay updated at any given time, according to Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je.

Information such as the number and location of fallen trees or debris, and how many households and areas are affected by power/water outages can be viewed real-time via the system map.

“Those affected by electricity or water cuts can stay updated as to when and how long the repair would take,” Ko said.

According to reports, the information provided will also cover evacuation notices, typhoon off days, weather forecasts, as well as live video feeds of traffic conditions (Taipei City), metro stations (MRT), and pumping stations (water level).     [FULL  STORY]
