Taipei, May 16 (CNA) The Taipei City government is recruiting 30,000
volunteers to serve at the 2017 Summer Universiade in the city, Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je (柯文哲) said Saturday.
The sports event will need the support of many volunteers because it is likely to draw 10,000 athletes from different countries, many of whom may not speak English, Ko said at a news conference.
The volunteers must be at least 18 years of age, and some will be expected to have foreign language skills, he said.
They will be assigned to the various competition venues and some will be required to help maintain the traffic arrangements, the mayor said. [FULL STORY]
