Taiwan and Canada have finished negotiations on the Agreements for the Avoidance of
Double Taxation, and are expected to sign the agreements soon.
President Ma Ying-jeou said on Wednesday that Taiwan and Canada have finished negotiations on the Agreements for the Avoidance of Double Taxation, and are expected to sign the agreements soon.
President Ma met with Canada’s representative to Taiwan, Mario Ste-Marie, in the afternoon to talk about bilateral economic cooperation.
Taiwan and Canada have maintained cordial relations, as the two sides have signed the Youth Working Holiday Program and Visa Waiver Program in 2010.
Regarding the bilateral economic interactions, Ma added, Taiwan is the 12th largest global trade partner of Canada, and the fifth largest in Asia. The bilateral trade reached US$55 billion last year. [FULL STORY]
