Taiwan seeking support to host ISF world school sport games

Taipei, Oct. 20 (CNA) Vice President Chen Chien-jen (陳建仁) on Thursday urged members of a 201610200019t0001delegation of the International School Sport Federation (ISF) to support Taiwan’s bid to host ISF world school sport games in the future, saying it would be a win-win situation for the island.

Speaking in a meeting with the ISF delegation, headed by the organization’s president Laurent Patrynka, at the Presidential Office, Chen said that Taiwan has rich experience in organizing international sport games, including the 2009 World Games in Kaohsiung, the 2009 Summer Deaflympics in Taipei, the 2014 ISF World Schools Badminton Championship in Taipei, the 2015 Asia Pacific Deaf Games in Taoyuan and the 2016 International Children’s Games in New Taipei.

Taiwan will also host the 2017 Universiade in Taipei and the 2019 East Asian Youth Games in Taichung, central Taiwan, the vice president noted.     [FULL  STORY]
