Taiwanese player finishes third in women’s table tennis world cup

Taipei, Sept. 30 (CNA) Taiwan’s Cheng I-ching (鄭怡靜) finished third Sunday at the

2018 International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Women’s World Cup in Chengdu, China, defeating Kasumi Ishikawa of Japan 4-1.

The fourth-seeded Cheng warmed up quickly to beat the second-seeded Ishikawa 11-8, 11-7, 12-10, 13-15, 11-8 at the Sichuan Province Gymnasium.

Earlier in the day, Cheng lost to first-seeded Zhu Yuling (朱雨玲) of China 6-11, 4-11, 13-11, 5-11, 8-11 in the semifinals.

Cheng has previously finished as runner-up at the Women’s World Cup 2016 in Philadelphia, and in third place in 2017 in Markham, Canada.    [FULL  STORY]
