Taipei, July 8 (CNA) Taiwan’s national baseball won its second game in a row in the preliminary round of the 2015 Summer Universiade in Gwangju, South Korea on Wednesday, defeating the United States 5-3 in 10 innings.

The victory left Taiwan on top of Group B and well-positioned to advance to the eight-team tournament’s semifinal round.

Taiwan, which won its first Group B game against Mexico 9-1 on Monday, plays the Czech Republic (1-1) on Thursday to determine whether it makes it into the final four.     [FULL  STORY]
