Tzu-ying (戴資穎) both advanced to the round of 16 in the men’s and women’s singles events at the 2019 Badminton World Federation (BWF) Singapore Open on Wednesday.

Chou defeated Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk of Thailand in two straight sets, 21-18 and 21-16, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium to reach the second round of the men’s singles event.

World No. 1 Tai battled to a 21-14, 10-21, 21-18 win over American Zhang Beiwen (張蓓雯) in the first round of the women’s singles event, which lasted 44 minutes.

Chou is the defending men’s singles champion of the Singapore Open.    [FULL  STORY]
