Taiwan’s Tai advances to round of 8 at All England Open

player, cruised to the eight-strong round at the 2019 All England Open Thursday in a match that lasted only 30 minutes.

Tai defeated American Beiwen Zhang (張蓓雯), the world’s No. 12, 21-15, 21-14 in the round of 16 to advance to the round of eight following her victory in the round of 32 the previous day.

Although Tai was trailing Zhang shortly after the game started, Tai recovered quickly and closed the gap, then went on to soar past her competitor in the 30-minute game.

Tai and Zhang have had seven encounters in the past, with Tai scoring five wins, four of which were in recent consecutive matches.    [FULL  STORY]
