holes to capture the Japan LPGA Championship Konica Minolta Cup in Nagasaki on Sunday and secure the third major title of her career on the Japan women’s golf tour.

Lu fired a 1-under 71 — one of only four under-par rounds carded by the 61-player field on Sunday — to give her a four-round score of 7-under 281 for a two-shot victory over Miki Sakai and Momoko Ueda of Japan.

“The last day is always difficult, and today the course was playing tough, and it put a lot of pressure on the players,” she said. “I knew that if I could make pars, I would have a shot (at winning).”

And that she did, making 12 pars in her first 13 holes along with a birdie on the par-5 ninth. But her round started to get interesting at the par-4 14th.     [FULL  STORY]
