Hao-ching (詹皓晴) lost Saturday to top-seeded Martina Hingis and Sania Mirza in the semifinals of the women’s doubles at the WTA Finals in Singapore in two sets 4-6, 2-6.

Hingis and Mirza secured the year-end No. 1. doubles ranking. The pair has won eight titles this year, including Grand Slam crowns at Wimbledon and the U.S. Open.

The WTA Finals is an annual end-of-season championship that is played by the top eight players/pairs of the year, who are divided into two round-robin groups.

The WTA Finals is generally considered the fifth-most prestigious event on the women’s tour after the four Grand Slam tournaments. It also has the largest purse and highest ranking points after the Grand Slams.
