War of resistance exhibition opens in Tainan

resistance against Japan (1937-1945) opened Wednesday in the southern city of Tainan, as part of a series of events being held to mark the 70th anniversary of the Republic of China’s victory in the war.

Organized by the Ministry of Culture, the exhibition is showcasing 150 photos taken by reporters of Central News Agency during the war. CNA is the curator of the event.

The photos depict the lives of civilians during the war and how they helped in the fight against Japan, said Liang Chun-ti (梁君棣), director of CNA’s services department, at the opening of the exhibition.

The goal is to remind people of how terrible war is and to encourage them to cherish times of peace, she said.     [FULL  STORY]
