Taipei, May 10 (CNA) A news section aimed at combating the spread of fake news and
providing the public with reliable and accurate information has been added to the Executive Yuan’s official website, Cabinet spokesman Hsu Kuo-yung (徐國勇) said Thursday.
The feature, titled “Real-time News Clarification,” officially went online at 5 p.m. Thursday, and reports from nearly two dozen news sources have already been included on the site, discussing such issues as the government’s New Southbound Policy and military pension reform.
The website will identify erroneous reporting and an effort will be made to refute and stamp out information deliberately created to confuse or misinform by presenting the facts, Hsu explained.
Examples of misinformation will be collected from local print publications, including magazines and newspapers, as well as online media, he said. [FULL STORY]
