Martina Hingis of Switzerland were knocked out in the women’s doubles semifinals at the BNP Paribas Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Finals in Singapore Saturday.

Top-seeded Chan and Hingis were defeated 4-6, 6(5)-7 by Timea Babos of Hungary and Andrea Hlavackova of the Czech Republic.

“Overall, we did pretty well today,” Chan said after the tournament, commending Babos and Hlavackova for their strong performance.

Their aggressive net play gave us a lot of pressure, Chan added.

The defeat halted the pair’s 19th consecutive match victory since the Wuhan and Beijing tournaments in September and early October, in which they won both titles.    [FULL  STORY]
