TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — A man jumped off a railway platform at Taipei Main Station
Sunday morning and was hit by an incoming train, said Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA, 台鐵) on its Facebook page.
“The man suffered from cardiac arrest after being rescued by firemen and was immediately sent to the National Taiwan University Hospital,” said Taipei City Fire Department (TCFD).
“The man is aged about 50,” said one fireman.
The motive for the man’s action is still under investigation.
TCFD said they received an initial report at 11:19 a.m. that a man fell off Taipei Main Station’s Platform 3. TRA later said the man “jumped off” the platform in its Facebook post. [FULL STORY]
