Taiwanese athlete wins silver medal in ISSF World Cup

Taipei, Aug. 15 (CNA) Taiwanese athlete Lin Yi-chun (林怡君) won the silver medal in the women’s trap event of the World Cup of the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) being held in Gabala, Azerbaijan, clinching at the same time a quota berth in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

Lin was defeated by Japan’s Yukie Nakayama 14-12 Friday in the final of the Women’s Trap event.

Nakayama hit 14 out of her 15 clays in the contest, while Lin only hit 12.

The Olympic quotas were awarded to the event’s two highest scores.
