in men's javelin event at the Folksam Grand Prix in Karlstad, Sweden, on Wednesday.

With a throw of 81.22 meters, Cheng finished third to Olympic gold medalist Thomas Rohler of Germany (83.76 meters) and Kim Amb of the host country (81.66 meters).

Cheng, who has held the men's javelin record in Asia since 2017, appeared not to be in form in the early stages of the competition, as his first throw was 78.05 meters followed by two failed attempts.

On the fourth try, however, he threw 81.22 meters, which won him the bronze medal.
