latest Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) world rankings for women’s doubles released Monday, sharing world No. 1 honors with playing partner Martina Hingis of Switzerland.

The 28-year-old Chan was second in the rankings last week, but moved into a tie for the top spot with the 37-year-old Hingis at 9,970 points after the Swiss veteran lost 360 ranking points from October 2016 that she did not defend this year, according to WTA rankings data.

Two days earlier, the duo of Chan and Hingis were named the 2017 Doubles Team of the Year by the WTA after they won their ninth women’s doubles title of the year at the China Open in Beijing on Oct. 8.    [FULL  STORY]
