Jakarta, Jan. 25 (CNA) Taiwanese badminton player Wang Tzu-wei (王子維) lost to
longtime opponent Son Wan-ho of South Korea in a close three-set match at the 2018 Indonesia Masters Thursday.
The defeat means he has bid farewell to a slot in the quarterfinals of the competition taking place in Jakarta.
Wang, who is ranked No. 11 in the world in men’s singles, came up against Son, ranked No. 5, and met his loss with a score of 17-21, 21-11, 19-21.
In the first game, the South Korean maintained a clear lead, and scored five consecutive points after 13 before finishing the set with a clear victory.
