TAIPEI, Taiwan — The “father of modern Chinese art glass” Heinrich Wang (王俠軍) made a rare

appearance in Southern Taiwan recently, giving a lecture in Kaohsiung on “Cultural & Creative breakthrough – inheritance and innovation.”
The designer gave the talk at the city’s Howard Plaza hotel after an invitation from the local branch of the Association of World Chinese Business Women (AWCBW).
President of the AWCBW Kaohsiung branch Lin San-Niang said Wang gave a wonderful speech for members and guests including Howard Plaza Boutique VIPs.
Born in Indonesia and raised in Taiwan, Wang is the founder of Newworkshop and Grand Crystal.
He also established and currently acts as art director of the porcelain production company NewChi.
Wang told of how when he started out working with porcelain, he was either turned away by manufacturers or forced to compromise his designs. [FULL STORY]
