Taiwan’s tri-services honor guard is headed to the Caribbean. The soldiers from the
army, navy and air force are set to perform as part of the national day celebrations in the allied nation of Saint Christopher and Nevis.
The tri-service honor guard delivers a spectacular performance in the defense ministry plaza in Taipei. The tossing, spinning and twirling of rifles is the result of countless hours of practice. It’s a taste of what’s to come when they perform this week in the Caribbean nation of Saint Christopher and Nevis.
Defense Minister Yen De-fa spoke about the honor guard on Friday before they embarked on the trip. He said he hoped that the performance – to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the country’s independence — can help strengthen bilateral ties. [FULL STORY]
