MOFA offers assistance following death of Serbian mayor

Taipei, Oct. 21 (CNA) The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) expressed its condolences following the death of a Serbian mayor visiting Taiwan and extended its full support to the family, a ministry’s spokesman said on Saturday.

According to MOFA’s Andrew Lee (李憲章), a Serbian mayor, who was visiting Taiwan as part of an economic development delegation, passed out during a visit to Yilan at around noon on Saturday.

The MOFA personnel with the delegation rushed the mayor to National Yang-Ming University Hospital, but doctors were unable to revive him.

MOFA has dispatched more personnel to Yilan, to provide assistance, Lee noted.
