Typhoon Kong-Rey, the 25th typhoon of the year, emerged this afternoon and is gathering in strength. On Tuesday at the earliest, it is forecast to become a severe typhoon.
And Wednesday will be the crucial time for determining whether it hits Taiwan.

The Central Weather Bureau forecasts that if a high-pressure system over the Pacific Strengthens in the next few days, the chances of Kong-Rey having a direct impact on Taiwan will greatly increase. Conversely, if the pressure system weakens, Kong-Rey may trace the path of Typhoon Trami, turning northward when it is close to Taiwan and move toward Japan.    [SOURCE]
