Typhoon Maria path update: Storm tracking towards Taiwan – class suspension tomorrow

Typhoon Maria slightly strengthened and accelerated outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Sunday afternoon.

The storm will be given the local name Gardo once it enters the the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Monday, July 9.

Typhoon Maris is not expected to hit land on its latest trajectory, but it’ll enhance the southwest monsoon.

In a bulletin issued 4 pm on Sunday,state weather bureau PAGASA said Maria now has maximum winds of 190 kilometers per hour (km/h) from the previous 185 km/h .
