CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) – West Virginia has entered into a reciprocal driver’s license agreement with Taiwan.

The state’s Division of Motor Vehicles announced the agreement Monday.

The move will help West Virginians living in Taiwan get a driver’s license without further driver’s education and tests. The same will apply for Taiwanese people living in West Virginia.

DMV Commissioner Pat Reed says the change will boost economic development.

West Virginia has similar agreements with Germany and South Korea.

A nominal conversion fee will apply during the exchange of licenses.

The policy only applies to drivers 18 years or older. It does not apply to drivers applying for a commercial license or a motorcycle license.     [FULL  STORY]
