Taipei, May 6 (CNA) The wife of the men’s record holder in the Taipei 101 Run Up
will don her husband’s shirt and take part in the grueling challenge.
The run up is now in its 13th year, and organizers said they are offering NT$200,000 (US$6,626) to runners who can shatter the previous record.
The records for both men and women were set in the first year — Paul Crake of Australia set the men’s record in 10 minutes and 29 seconds, while Andrea Mayr of Austria set the women’s record in 12 minutes and 38 seconds.
This year’s event is slated for Sunday, with the contestants climbing 91 floors — 390 meters in all and 2,046 steps. [FULL STORY]
