TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – President-elect Tsai Ing-wen on Saturday called on her campaign team not to disperse, but to stand together in solidarity with ever more people, leading all people in the country to stand together in one large “Team Taiwan.”
After winning a landslide victory and a legislative majority in the January 16 elections, Tsai has been on a tour of the country to thank voters. On Saturday, it was the turn of Hsinchu County to welcome her and Vice President-elect Chen Chien-jen at a victory reception.
Tsai told her supporters how after she lost the 2012 presidential election, she had asked her campaign aides not to disperse but to stick together and keep working. They did stay around, the team grew larger and larger, and on January 16, it succeeded in winning a beautiful victory, Tsai said. [FULL STORY]
