Sunday while trying to smuggle illicit drugs worth over NT$10 million (US$340,000) into Taiwan, aviation police said Monday.

The three men, who took a Dragon Air flight from Hong Kong to Taichung in central Taiwan, were found to have a total of more than eight kilograms of methamphetamine tied to their waist and two thighs in small packets, said Lai Chia-hung (賴嘉宏), chief of the inspection team of the Kaohsiung Aviation Police Bureau.

This was the third time that illicit drugs were seized at a local airport this year, following similar incidents at Kaohsiung International Airport on Jan. 12 and Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport on Feb. 9.    [FULL  STORY]
