Taipei, Feb. 12 (CNA) More than 30 victims were found in the rubble of a
collapsed building in Tainan Friday, bringing the death toll to 98 from a magnitude 6.4 earthquake that hit southern Taiwan Feb. 6.
Of the 98 confirmed deaths, 96 were killed in the collapsed Weiguan Jinlong apartment complex in Tainan’s Yongkang District, according to official data of the National Fire Agency.
As of 8:30 p.m. Friday, 22 people are still believed to be trapped in the rubble of the collapsed 16-story residential building.
More than 10 buildings in Tainan were toppled and another 550 people injured during the quake. [FULL STORY]
