Taipei, May 18 (CNA) The chances that Taiwan will be allowed to compete in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics under its own name instead of “Chinese Taipei” are very low, Wu Ching-kuo (吳經國), an executive board member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), said on Friday.
While hosting a gathering of Olympic and sports officials in Taipei, Wu addressed a recent movement that is calling for Taiwan to be allowed to compete under the name “Taiwan” at the 2020 Games. [FULL STORY]
