Taipei, Dec. 2 (CNA) The Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA) said Friday it will work with local
carriers to organize extra flights between Taiwan and outlying islands during the Lunar New Year holiday to cope with the sudden closing of TransAsia Airways (復興航空).
Mandarin Airlines (華信航空), UNI Airways (立榮航空) and Far Eastern Air Transport (遠東航空) will provide 390 additional one-way domestic flights, the CAA said.
The extra flights will bring total one-way services to Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu islands to 2,414 between Jan. 27 and Feb. 5, it said.
There will be 106,126 seats on 1,090 flights between Penghu and Taiwan, 113,712 seats on 1,118 flights between Kinmen and Taiwan, and 13,916 seats on 206 flights between Matsu and Taiwan, the CAA said. [FULL STORY]
