Chen Tai-cheng reelected to FISU executive committee

Taipei, Nov. 9 (CNA) Chen Tai-cheng (陳太正) was reelected as a member of the executive 201511090027t0001committee of the International University Sports Federation (FISU) during the second day of the 34th FISU General Assembly in Lausanne on Nov. 8, the Chinese Taipei University Sports Federation (CTUSF) said Monday.

This was the fifth time Chen has been elected as a FISU executive member since 1999, according to the CTUSF.

This year, Chen was among 39 candidates vying for 15 board seats. He retained his seat after receiving 99 votes from representatives of 128 FISU member countries during the first round of the election, according to the CTUSF.

Russia’s Oleg Matytsin, 1st vice-president of the FISU, was elected as the new president for the period 2015-2019 with 102 votes after beating French incumbent Claude-Louis Gallien who received 23 votes.
