Chien-Ming Wang takes pummeling in Royals loss

TAIPEI, Taiwan — Taiwanese relief pitcher Chien-Ming Wang pitched his worst game this season on Tuesday against the Los Angeles Angels at Kansas City.

Wang, who entered the game in the ninth inning, threw a total of 30 balls, and was pummeled for four hits and allowed four earned runs.

He also allowed two walks and hit a batter, resulting in his ERA rising from 3.73 to 4.57 despite pitching only 0.1 innings.

Royals starting pitcher Dillon Gee pitched five innings, allowing 10 hits, and five earned runs. Relief pitcher Chris Young subsequently pitched 3.1 innings, allowing eight hits and four earned runs.     [FULL  STORY]
