London, May 9 (CNA) Lin Hwai-min (林懷民), founder and artistic director of Cloud Gate

Dance Theatre, was named an honorary fellow of Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London on Wednesday.

Lin, who was in London with the theatre group for its performance of “Formosa” at Sadler’s Wells Theatre earlier in the day, received the award from Mirella Bartrip, the conservatoire’s director of dance.

In naming Lin as an honorary member of the conservatoire, Bartrip said he was one of the top choreographers in Asia.

In response, Lin said the recognition by one of the world’s leading dance and music schools was great encouragement for him.    [FULL  STORY]
