Mei Wen-kui (梅文魁), 48, was arrested at around 10:00pm in Neimen Township after the murdered police officer’s high school classmate, an officer named Du (杜), maneuvered his squad car beside the suspects vehicle, and collided with it from the side to force it off the road. The driver of a second police car stopped in front of Mei’s vehicle, to complete the blocking procedure.

Mei, who was a passenger in the vehicle driven by a man named Lin, saw no chance of escape, and fearing that he would be shot, immediately raised his hands and surrendered.

The suspected murder weapon, a pistol, was found in the back seat of the vehicle along with 25 bullets.
