Rescue workers on Tuesday pulled out another victim and a young infant from the Weiguan Jinlong rubble after their sniffer dog discovered signs of life under the debris.
But despite 12 hours of intensive efforts to rescue them, both were found dead at precisely 1:45 a.m. According to rescue teams at the scene of the location, the deceased mother was found wrapping her arms around her four-year-old son at the time.
The victims were stranded on the 16th floor of what was previously known as Block F of the apartment complex, which is now laid in ruins as more than 120 people are still left unaccounted for, according to officials.
Their deaths led rescuers to weep in sorrow as their bodies were retrieved from the rubble. [FULL STORY]
