Taipei, Feb. 13 (CNA) More victims were found in the rubble of a collapsed
building in Tainan Saturday, bringing the death toll to 112 from a magnitude 6.4 earthquake that hit southern Taiwan Feb. 6.
Of the 112 confirmed deaths, 110 were found in the collapsed Weiguan Jinlong apartment complex in Tainan’s Yongkang District, according to the latest statistics compiled by Tainan City Government.
As of 11 a.m., five people — all adults — are believed to remain trapped in the rubble of the collapsed 16-story residential building, the city government said.
More than 10 buildings in Tainan were toppled and another 550 people were injured during the earthquake. [FULL STORY]
