Taipei, Sept. 7 (CNA) A five-star hotel announced Wednesday that it will hold a stair-climbing race on Nov. 19, offering winners a night in its presidential suite worth NT$60,000 (US$1,920).
Tseng Ching-tsan (曾慶欑), general manager of the Nice Prince Hotel in Chiayi, and Su Yao-hsing (蘇耀星), head of the Chiayi City Government’s Fire Bureau, held a news conference to announce the event.
Tseng said that to encourage the public to climb stairs instead of taking elevators, it first sponsored the stair-climbing race last year.
More than 800 people took part in the inaugural race in 2015, running up 397 steps to the 18th floor, making it moderate in difficulty in comparison with the more famous Taipei 101 Run Up race. [FULL STORY]
