Furloughed workers hit new high since March

As of the end of November, 28 companies have implemented furloughs, and a total of 861 workers are on unpaid leave.

in the second half of November, which has increased 288 from 573 to 861, the highest number since March.

As of the end of November, 28 companies have implemented furloughs, and a total of 861 workers were on unpaid leave, hitting a new high since the March report, according to the MOL statistics.

Most of the companies using furloughs are small businesses with fewer than 50 employees, said the MOL, with most of the workers being put on leave for less than 4 days.

According to government regulations, employers are allowed to place employees on furlough for up to three months.    [FULL  STORY]
