German trade office holds forum on offshore wind power

renewable energy. That’s in line with its goal to end the use of nuclear power by 2025. Tuesday’s conference brought representatives of several German firms to Taipei to share their experiences building wind power infrastructure.

Deputy economics minister Shen Jong-chin said Tuesday that the ministry has completed a two-year plan for solar power and a four-year plan for wind power. He said the government has also set a goal for renewables to make up 20% of Taiwan’s power mix by 2025. Shen said the government is also planning a green energy science park in southern Taiwan.    [FULL  STORY]
