Google Street View allows 360 panorama view of Yushan

Taipei, March 17 (CNA) New 360-degree spherical panoramic images of 201603170017t0001Yushan, Taiwan’s highest peak at 3,952 meters, were put online Thursday as part of Google Taiwan’s Street View, the company announced that day.

Using a Google Cardboard headset, Internet users can now get a 3D virtual reality (VR) view of Yushan and surrounding mountains, the search engine giant said.

Google Cardboard is a virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) platform developed by Google for use with a head mount for a mobile phone.

Google said provides full support for the use of Google Cardboard VR in Street View, which allows people to virtually explore scenic spots such as Yushan that they might never otherwise get to visit.     [FULL  STORY]
